Building Community Through Sport
The Medina County Flash brings athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers together around a simple belief: everyone deserves the chance to compete, belong, and be celebrated.
Everyone belongs
The Medina Flash is the Special Olympics program for Medina County, providing year-round opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to train, compete, and grow through a variety of sports. Athletes represent Medina in local, regional, and state competitions while developing skills, confidence, and lifelong friendships.
The Flash is about more than sports. It’s about belonging. Our athletes, Unified partners, coaches, volunteers, and families come together to build an inclusive community where every person is supported, celebrated, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Our mission
To provide year-round sports training and competition opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics contributes to the physical, social, and psychological development of the athletes. Through successful experiences in sports, they gain confidence and build a positive self-image which carries over into the classroom, home, job and community.
